Our Town Wedding Giveaway

Congratulations to Marshall and Alicia!

In celebration of the Austin staging of ZACH Theatre’s production of Thornton Wilder’s beloved play Our Town, ZACH Theatre will give away a full wedding to one lucky Central Texas couple – complete from invite to ceremony to reception.  The wedding will be performed on the set of Our Town, in ZACH’s Nowlin Studio at 1426 Toomey Road in the heart of Austin on scenic Lady Bird Lake.

Adventurous and fun loving couples are invited to submit a short, two-minute video via YouTube or write a quick one-page essay explaining why they are the ideal couple in our town to win the Austin-themed wedding.  The contest is open to all Central Texas residents, whether they wish to experience their first wedding, renew their vows, or perform a commitment ceremony. 

 The wedding package will include:

• A fully decorated private event room

Contest Dates*:

• March 8 – April 3:  Wedding contest contestants are invited to submit their videos and essays.
• April 6 – April 16:  The public votes for their favorite couple based on the finalists.
• April 17:  The winner will be announced preceding Opening Night .
• April 18 - May 23 – Dates available for the winning couples’ wedding date, which may take place on the Sunday evening, or anytime Monday or Tuesday during the run of OUR TOWN.

 How to Enter:

• Write an essay or create a video explaining why you want an Austin wedding; remember to be creative and entertaining, so you will stand out from the other contestants.
• If you created a video, upload the video to YouTube no later than April 2nd
• Email your essay with a picture of you and your significant other or the URL of the video to ZACH Theatre at mywedding@zachtheatre.org.
  Don’t have a way to create a video? Drop by ZACH Theatre and we’ll film your entry for you. Just email us at mywedding@zachtheatre.org to set up a time to drop by the theatre and we'll film it for you!
• We’ll review all the submissions and post the top videos on this website for public voting, starting April 3^rd.

SELECTION OF WINNERS: The winners will be selected based upon the contestants videos submissions to YouTube for public voting.  The winners will be announced on or before April 17, 2010. Selection will be conducted by ZACH Theatre, whose decisions are final and binding. The winners will be notified by April 17, 2010. If winners cannot be notified within five (5) days after notification attempt or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the applicable prize will be awarded to an alternate winner. The winner must complete & return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within 14 days after date of notification, or an alternate winner will be selected. 6. DISCLAIMER/PUBLICATION: Winner assumes all liability for any injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by winner’s participation in the Contest and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of the Grand Prize, and you hereby release Sponsors and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, employees and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Contest from any such and all liability.
