Synopsis

Mario is a hard working auto mechanic in east LA who is left to raise his son, JJ, after the passing of his mother.  In order to honor her memory and cope with his lack of connection with his father, JJ begins to build an arcade out of leftover cardboard from his dad’s garage.  It is through JJ’s imagination and ingenuity that he is able to connect to himself and his family.  This bilingual play celebrates culture, imagination, perseverance, and family.  jj’s arcade  is co-produced with Teatro Vivo and presented at the Mexican American Cultural Center.

Best for ages 7 and up

All Friday evening performances are Pay What You Can at the door before the performance.

Mario trabaja duro como mecánico en LA Este, y queda sólo para criar a su hijo JJ, después del fallecimiento de su madre. Para honrar su memoria y enfrentarse a la falta de conexión con su padre, JJ empieza a construir una galería de sobras de cartón del taller de su padre. JJ logra conectarse a sí mismo y a su familia por medio de su imaginación y su ingenio. Esta obra bilingüe celebra a la cultura, la imaginación, la perseverancia, y la familia. La Galería de JJ es co-producida con Teatro Vivo y presentada en el Centro Cultural Mexicano Americano.

Recomendada para mayores de 7 años de edad.

Todas las actuaciones nocturnas de los viernes son Pague Lo Que Pueda en la entrada antes de la obra.
