Topfer Theatre Media

ZACH's Topfer Theatre groundbreaking celebrates the latest milestone for ZACH, an Austin treasure now in its 78th year of offering nationally recognized theatre that is inclusive, transformative, collaborative and inspired by Austin's unique creativity.

By fall 2012, ZACH will have a facility of commensurate quality to the dynamic professional productions on its stage and the talented Austin artists who call ZACH their artistic home. ZACH is creating a comprehensive campus that will include three intimate performance venues, the Binning-Dickson Education Center, and the ZACH Production and Creativity Center (ZPACC) housing the Nowlin Rehearsal Studio.

The centerpiece will be the new state-of-the-art Topfer Theatre, which doubles ZACH's current audience capacity and will receive LEED-silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. the Karen Kuykendall Stage is three-and-a-half times larger than ZACH's current Mainstage, providing the tools for significantly enhanced performances including a fully automated fly tower, a trapped stage floor that can create an orchestra pit, and the latest sound, video and lighting technology. The patron experience improves with a two-story view of Lady Bird Lake and downtown, expanded parking and valet service, and an open-air plaza uniting the campus.

ZACH is creating a place where dreams are fulfilled: Prepare to expect wonders.
